Start your Central Mission Center Fall Conference experience by joining us for a special evening of music with Carrie Newcomer and Gary Walters on Saturday, November 8 at 7 PM as part of the Under the Spiral Concert Series. Doors open at 6:30 PM

Carrie Newcomer is a renowned songwriter, recording artist, performer, and educator. Described by the Boston Globe as a “prairie mystic” and praised by Rolling Stone Magazine as one who “asks all the right questions,” Carrie’s music weaves together faith, hope, and the beauty of everyday life.

Come enjoy a night of thoughtful lyrics and uplifting melodies as we begin our Mission Center Fall Conference weekend together in community and celebration.

We are gearing up for a day full of ministry and fellowship (and a little business thrown in!) Meet us at the Temple Complex around 8:45 for a light breakfast before classes begin at 9am.

“Melodies of Faith: A Journey in Trust” with Susan Naylor and Janné Grover- Meditation Chapel

“Stirred to Action presents Mindfulness in the Heartland” with Tracy and Kari Twombly – Continents Rooms

with Debbie Bayless from the Center for Conflict Resolution will guide us through effective strategies for managing conflict and lead us in practical resolution exercises. Attendees will have the chance to apply these techniques in small group sessions. Accepting monetary donations to the Coat Giveaway

IDEA Presents Poverty and Embracing Mission” with Pat Henshaw – Theater 1

This session is an introductory exploration of systemic issues related to poverty and how congregations can live out the mission initiative Abolish Poverty and End Suffering.

Be Kind to Yourself – You Deserve It: Exploring Self-Compassion (middle school/ high school ages) with Tyler Horringa – Lecture Hall

How often do we treat others with more kindness or grace than we treat ourselves? As young people made in the image of God we are loved! Yet, we sometimes find it hard to show self-compassion, which God shows us. During our time together we will explore the concept of self-compassion through a variety of engaging games and meaningful discussions.

Hope is a Rainbow (elementary ages) with Julie Bover  – Shalom Place

Does your 1st through 5th grader enjoy LEGOs, play dough, art, and games? Using these fun hands-on activities, we will be exploring how hope is a feeling, gift, and wish! 

Nursery with Savana Curtis-Tye – Peacemakers Room

Following classes we will worship together at 10:30am in the Temple Sanctuary. Apostle Kat Hnatyshyn will be providing the sermon and members from around the mission center will be sharing.

Following the worship service join us in the Auditorium for a Fundraising Lunch benefitting Youth Ministries! (Free Will Donation- cash preferable) We will be serving BBQ Pulled Pork, Smoked Turkey, or Smoked Jackfruit sandwiches and sides! After lunch we will continue in the lower Auditorium for the conference business and our Ordination Service for Nathan Twombly and Ginny Hart
