Storytellers Night: An Evening of Tales Among Friends

Friday, October 12th @ 7:00 p.m.

Gather for an evening of tales centered on the theme
“The Dream of Zion.” Storytellers include Matt Frizzell, Lisa Walden, Pat Winholtz, and You! The Storytellers evening is sponsored by the Stone Church congregation and the Community of Christ Historic Sites Foundation in support of
the Alma Blair Internship Program at Community of Christ historic sites.

 

Zion: Exploring Our Attempts to Build Community

Saturday, Oct. 13th 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m

Join us as we explore past and present Zionic attempts
throughout Community of Christ history. Learn about the
1830s Independence church community along with the present
day challenges of recreating the early concept of Zion as a
model for community planning today.

Morning leaders and session topics include:
• Independence: Quest for Zion with Ron Romig
• Different Models of Zion in the Restoration with Andrew Bolton
• New Vistas with David Hall

 

Singing the Songs of Zion!

Saturday, Oct. 13th @ 7:00 p.m.

Join Randall Pratt, Peter Smith, and David Bolton (pianist) in an exciting hymn festival inside the historic sanctuary of the Stone Church. Hear the stories behind the old hymns that reflect the dreams of Zion. Sing the sacred songs with the
same passion and zeal as the hymn authors who strove to build the Kingdom of God.
