The First Presidency has released commentary regarding priesthood morality in response to a referral from the 2016 World Conference.  The commentary is based in the Enduring Principles, which help define the character and identity of our church.  This discussion will help Central Mission Center members explore and understand the Commentary on Principles.  The same facilitating program will be presented on each date.

  • September 9 Save the Date! Evangelist Gathering for all Central USA Mission Field evangelists in the Temple in Independence from 1:00pm-5:00pm. This event will be focused on Guidelines for Evangelist Blessings and Intentional prayer for the church. Presented by Jane Gardner and Janné Grover. EXPERIENCE CONGREGATIONS IN MISSION

  • June 28, Wednesday, and continuing through the summer each Wednesday CHAIR YOGA class at Good Shepherd congregation (4341 Blue Ridge Blvd., Kansas City) from 9:30am-10:30am, led by Margaret French.   • July 12-15 Tag Sale at Colonial Hills congregation (3539 S 7 Highway, Blue Springs). Linens, furniture, glassware, plastic ware, tons of kid's clothes, all adult and youth clothes will be hanging up. Donations are welcomed.   • June 26-29 Kids'Arts Camp: Imagine and Create at Good Shepherd congregation (4341 Blue Ridge Blvd., Kansas City) from 9:00am-Noon with Family and Friends Program on Thursday evening at 7:00pm.   • October 12 SAVE THE DATE Adult Gathering at Good Shepherd congregation (4341 Blue Ridge Blvd., Kansas City) from 9:00am-2:00pm. Speakers: Cathi Cackler-Veazey and Andy Kroesen.

 COMMUNITY

  • July 8 or July 15 Volleyball Players – Any boy or girl from 10 to 18 years old interested in playing competitive volleyball is invited to attend our ATTACK Club Volleyball Tryouts. 10-14 year olds tryout from 9:00am-10:30am; 15-18 year olds tryout from 10:30am-12:00pm. All tryouts are at Family Life Center 500 W Pacific). $10 tryout fee. Other tryouts on July 8th and 15th – same times.
  • August 25-26 "The Body, Mind, Spirit Connection" is the focus for this years Health & Spirituality Workshop at the Temple. The Friday evening keynote address will be brought by Helen "Jody" Hueschen, RN, MN, President of the Kansas City Chapter of the American Holistic Nurses' Association. A reception will follow. Saturday's workshop will include sessions on holistic nursing, body/mind medicine, art therapy, and more. Certificates of Attendance will be available.   • October 19-22 International conference at the National World War I Museum and Memorial Kansas City, MO – Remembering Muted Voices: Conscience, Dissent, Resistance, and Civil Liberties in World War I through Today. EMPLOYMENT

  • Ministry Support Position – Central Mission Center – part-time. Primary responsibilities include: weekly bulletin and mission center announcements processing for printing; mailing preparation and processing; small event sign-up, office visitor first contact; document processing; light office machinery maintenance; some telephone; other projects as assigned: mission center recorder. Skills include computer competence, word processing with MS Word, spreadsheet creation and use with Excel, project management and completion, able to complete tasks with little supervision.
